Hurricane Katrina aftermath in St Bernard Parish. Destroyed housing, families helping to clear debris and FEMA contractors are still removing coffins from the graveyard destroyed by the storm. Merrick cemetery was one of the earliest slave cemeteries in the south and was deluged by 20ft of flood water.
