2013. Blight. New Orleans

25 images Created 26 Aug 2013

Hurricane Katrina 8 years later. In a tale of two cities, much remains to be done to rebuild some of the areas hardest hit by the storm. Brad Pitt's 'Make it Right' Foundation has revitalised just a fraction of the Lower 9th ward and sits in an area surrounded by blight.

 • 23 August 2013. Lower 9th Ward, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Katrina 8 years later. In a tale of two cities, the hardest hit neighbourhoods struggle to revitalize and return. Many half finished or blighted properties and vacant overgrown lots remain dotted throughout the landscape with limited new construction projects. Residents who have returned complain of limited services, infrequent police patrols, high crime rates, rampant mosquitos and uncontrolled vermin.
