Route 27, Louisiana where the storm hit hardest on the Louisiana/Texas border. The back edge of Rita floods across the roadway as rescue workers attempt to reach stranded flood victims. L/R Josh Herman and his uncle Romeo Espinosa try to get to their flooded convenience store in Carlyss with an abandoned puppy they rescued and named Rita.
