Muses is the only all women's Krewe to parade in New Orleans and is known for its satire, famous shoe throws and is generally considered one of the most popular parades of the Mardi Gras.

The C3/Hands off Iberville coalition march almost 6 miles from the devastated Lower Ninth Ward to downtown New Orleans in an alternative protest to the Mayor's officially sanctioned celebrations marking Martin Luther King Jr day. The protest remembered those who perished and claims to stand up for the rights of displaced, primarily african americans.<br />
