  • 17 August 2006 - Slidell - Louisiana. George Arieux, 69 yrs old.<br />
George stands amidst the little that remains of his home at 153 Carr Drive. Hurricane Katrina wiped out George's house and all his belongings. He believes State Farm Insurance company owes him over $46,000. He has recieved a paltry $7,000, despite being a loyal, policy paying customer for decades.<br />

  • 17 August 2006 - Slidell - Louisiana. Linda Spears (58 yrs) and her husband Charles (65 yrs) struggle in the cramped conditions of their FEMA trailer located on the site of their former home at 180a, Lakeview Drive. Hurricane Katrina wiped out the Spears' house, taking everything they owned. They are currently taking legal action against State Farm insurance company who have paid them a paltry $3,000 instead of settling with them for the insured value of their home and contents which total in excess of $230,000.<br />

  • May 5th, 2006. Lower 9th Ward, New Orleans, Louisiana. Over 8 months after hurricane Katrina and still the city remains largely in ruins in many devastated neighbourhoods. Wayne Buford, director of the State Emergency Management Agency with his dog Rusty outside a building tagged with RIP graffiti. Buford is in charge of the grim task of body recovery from the ruins of the the Lower 9th Ward. His dog Rusty is a trained cadaver dog, used to sniff out human remains still buried in the rubble. They continue to find skeletal remains.

Archbishop Philip Matthew Hannan (May 20th, 1913 - Sept 29th, 2011) will be interred at the cathedral. Archbishop Hannan was a decorated WWII army chaplain and served as a  member of the Vatican II Council Fathers under Pope Pius XII. The industrious and well respected Archbishop Hannan was a personal confidant of President John F Kennedy, delivering the eulogy at the assassinated President's funeral.<br />

Governor Bobby Jindal and former US ambassador Lindy Boggs attend the funeral of  Archbishop Philip Hannan at St Louis cathedral in Jackson Square. Archbishop Philip Matthew Hannan (May 20th, 1913 - Sept 29th, 2011). Archbishop Hannan was a decorated WWII army chaplain and served as a  member of the Vatican II Council Fathers under Pope Pius XII. The industrious and well respected Archbishop Hannan was a personal confidant of President John F Kennedy, delivering the eulogy at the assassinated President's funeral.<br />
